The theme for this short duet for clarinet and sax is about distant relationships and distant bonds. Maybe there is someone in your life that you wish you could spend more time with. It could be a partner, a close friend, a family member, a pet, or anything. As my life continues to move forward, I find I become a lot more busy, and the same goes for a lot of people in my life. Maybe even later this will be even more true. You can be so close with someone, but because of any life circumstances, having a lot of time with them becomes unrealistic. But that's just life. This piece is about longing for more time with these people that we wish were closer and trusting a bond can remain very strong even though it is so distant
